Forts, Beaches, Harbours, Sugar Mills and Museums

Historical forts, sugar mills, museums and harbours may not sound like your idea of a tropical holiday destination but, put them together on a Caribbean island along with 365 sweeping white sandy beaches and coves and you have Antigua, otherwise known as the "Heart of the Caribbean". There's no doubt that the beaches Antigua are truly spectacular but we think you'll also love to explore the island's other places of interest, many of which are closely linked with our own British history.

Antigua was discovered in 1493 by Christopher Columbus. This beautiful island retains its seafaring connections and is a favourite destination for the yachting fraternity. Antigua has stunning beaches, the sand is white, the sea is clear and warm and it's difficult not to just lie back and take things easy.

Anguilla has become high end-resort, and a popular tax haven, having no capital gains, estate, profit or other forms of direct taxation on either individuals or corporations.

One of Best Points of Anguilla are the Beaches

Anguilla is a relatively high priced island, with excellent gourmet dining, great beaches, and good music. Though not known for its nightlife, it has a vibrant music community, that would entertain anyone.

Bankie Banx: Famous Home-Grow Musician

He still lives on the island, on the beach at Rendevous Bay, which he has fought to keep in its natural state. He has a restaurant there, called the Dune Preserve, and he makes sculptures out of driftfood and rocks, as below.....

5 Star Resorts in Anguilla

There are four 5 star resorts in Anguilla, a lot for such a tiny island. They include Cap Juluca, CusinArt Resort and Spa, Viceroy Hotel and Spa, and the oldest, Malliouhana Resort. A few have golf courses......Cap Juluca, pictured above, is especially spectacular, with the Greco-Moorish expects to see Ali Baba and his 40 thieves, riding down the beach, but not, that is just the waiter!.....
